Susan Kaye

Susan Kaye grew up in North Idaho and has been telling stories her whole life—first to anyone who would listen, and eventually on the page. At 18, she joined the United States Air Force (she and Jimmy Carter served their country at the same time) and found herself assigned to aircraft maintenance—an unlikely career for someone who would go on to write Regency romances, but there it is. She married at 19, raised two children, and in 1989 moved to Portland, Oregon, to help start a church. Along the way she discovered Jane Austen, and specifically Persuasion—the quiet, steadfast love story that Austen fans can never quite leave alone. Susan can’t either. Her novels retell the story of Captain Frederick Wentworth and Anne Elliot: from Wentworth’s point of view, from the high seas, at Christmastime, years later. They are clean historical romances for readers who love Austen, the Regency era, and second chances.
